Supported by LGPro, the ALGWA Victoria Bursary Award helps women and non-binary people in local government to grow their careers and develop their skills.
Council officers can nominate for the bursary award as long as their council is a member of ALGWA Victoria. Nominees must also be undertaking study relative to their role in local government.
The winner will receive prizes valued at over $7,500, inclusive of:

A proxy is required to attend on behalf of the nominee should they not be able to attend.
The Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA) Victoria advocates for and supports women working in local government across Victoria. Through the Bursary Award, supported by LGPro, ALGWA Victoria recognises and invests in women and non-binary people who are building their careers in the sector and undertaking study relative to their role.
The Bursary Award provides a $2,500 cash prize as part of a package valued at over $7,500, supporting the winner's professional development and study relative to their role in local government.
As part of the nomination, the nominee's Council must agree to fund their attendance at the 2026 LGPro Women's Network Dinner.
